For Pure SSD VPS packages we are using Dell Dual CPU server platforms with PERC HW RAID controllers that support TRIM (even that this is not critical nowadays), Samsung Enterprise grade SSDs in RAID-10 storage mode , DDR4 ECC RAM, Intel Xeon E5 CPUs, +WD HDDs RAID-1 storage level for full backups. PERC (LSI chipset) RAID Controller with full SSD support provide the highest speed indexes during sequential and random R/W cycles.
The best choice for I/O-intensive application such as databases, CMS, etc.
For Hybrid Storage VPS packages (SSD-Accelerated) we are using Supermicro Dual CPU server platforms with LSI HW RAID Controllers ,
Seagate 15k RPM SAS disks in RAID-10 storage mode + Intel SSDs in CacheVault, DDR3 ECC RAM, Intel Xeon E5 CPUs . We use SAS 15000 rpm HDDs because they are much faster than regular SATA HDDs. The good choice for normal-low I/O-intensive applications . you'll get more space for the same price.
